What slr camera is considered a professional ?
I’ve been reading lately some people comments about some camera, saying that a canon Rebel XT is good for amateurs who’s starting in photograph, the same with the Rebel XTI and some more and this has made me wondering. What exactly would be a professional slr camera then? because i thought the XT and XTI was considered one or is it simply these people ignorance. That it is not true.
The XT and XTI are not professional cameras. They are just entry-level digital SLR’s. A professional Digital SLR, for instance is the Nikon D3:

This camera is several thousand dollars. More examples would be the Canon eos 1d Mark III, the Canon eos 1ds Mark III, the Nikon D2x,d1,d1x,d1h, d2xs, the Canon eos 1ds Mark II, the list goes on. All of these cameras are thousands of dollars, some of them around eight. They are not cheap. There are many differences between the D3 and the entry level D40. The XT and XTI are not Professional cameras. Professional cameras often have FF sensors, higher resolution, and a vertical shutter release built in, but those are just a few differences.
